Yes you guessed it. Tracy and I went to the Eagles concert Saturday May 9th! Our Brother In law Brian bought us tickets. Now these were not just any tickets, shich any would be great too but they were second row on the floor tickets!!!!! It was amazing. This is Tracy's favorite band. His brother Threll introduced him or turned him on to them as they use to say back in the 70's and ever since they have been Tracy's favorite band or for sure least for srue in the top 3. It was like a dream come true for Tracy! I even got teary eyed at the beginning cause it was so exciting. I love them too. So it doubled as a great Mother's Day present for me. An Outdoor concert where I can dance, oh yeah! The people on our side were the coolest of course and so most of them were up dancing too so we were not standing in front of sitters. This was the first concert at the Rio Tinto Stadium. We had not been there before . It is nice. I must admit I was not for this at first but since they built it anyway it is nice . Also Michelle Branch sang a few songs before the Eagles came out. She was great too. Tracy and I walked to the Stadium too. We walked to Jordan Commons first. Had dinner and then walked over to the Stadium. It was a great night! Thanks Brian!
Mother's Day was lot's of fun too! We went to church and then after church we went to Bear Park, to have a picnic and play. It was great fun. I wanted to go there cause I love parks, plus it is close to Moms for her to come celebrate, and the Grandkids love it. We went last year too. Our kids and grandkids came, except Holly's family who is in FL. whom we miss of course. She just taught me over the phone to blog. She said " you really should blog about the Eagles" so I finally just did my first blog entry. Usually Heather does them. Dixie set it up in the beginning and then Holly did pictures when I was in Fl and Heather updates it. Heather's posts on our blog are more interesting with all her pictures. Back to the park. I got distracted. Surprising theat never happens! Brian brought water balloons and we played toss the balloon with blankets and then we had a fun game of kick ball! It was a good time had by all! Happy Mother's Day Mom. Thelma Lou has been such a great example of Love and Light. She worked so hard raising us Gogan kids. Our parents got divorced when I was 12 and at the time were living in Maine. She worked hard to get us out here to Utah where she had no family although she did have great support in the church . Us kids, well at least Lorie and I wanted to move back to Utah where we had lived when I was in 5th and 6th grade. It would have been easier for her to stay back East closer to family but she did it for us. Unselfish as always. She taught us to love others unconditionally and is a great example of love and service! Anybody who know Thelma Lou knows what a great women she is. I Love you Mom!
Also Tracy Mother passed away 7 years ago but she was a wonderful Talented mother and taught her children and grandchildren about hard work and love for their family. She too was a single mom for years and worked so hard to keep her family together. Joyce and I always got along well. When she first passed away I found myself thinking, Oh I need to call and tell Mom that, usually something cute the kids, her grandkids had done, Just like I would my own Mom. We miss her. It will be great to see her once again.
Thanks to all the Mom's in my Life to My best friend Mom's who helped raise me and my friends who are Mom's who I look to as examples as well. Also I am so grateul for my daughter's and daughter -in-law who are great Mom's who have given me such beautiful grandchildren and love and teach them so well!
